Following on from the great success of 2012, the Ennistymon book fair will take place again this May; Saturday and Sunday, the 18th & 19th, from 10am to 6pm.
Empty shop-fronts will be home to pop-up bookshops selling books of all kinds – antiquarian collectibles, paperback fiction, poetry, bargain new books, books of local interest – if you can imagine it, the chances are, it will be there. Ten prominent booksellers from the length & breadth of the country will be trading, including Scéal Eile Books, Ennis; Tall Stories, Kilkenny; Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, Galway; Salmon Bookshop, Ennistymon & Doolin Dinghy Books, Doolin. Venues include: Stack’s, Salmon Bookshop & Literary Centre, Wall’s and an Teach Ceoil – where the events will be centered.
There will be a children’s event with inimitable storyteller Eddie Lenihan on Saturday afternoon at 3pm in an Teach Ceoil. Eddie will entertain with colourful stories, many of which will be inspired by the surrounding landscape and local characters.
Award-winning short fiction writer Eddie Stack will launch his new collection ‘Quare Hawks’ at 5pm on Sunday May 19th in an Teach Ceoil. ‘Quare Hawks’ is Stack’s third collection of short stories, and includes stories starring Ennistymon itself – this is sure to be an unmissable event!
There will be plenty to inspire, delight and entertain & all events are free!
