Christmas at Scéal Eile Books, Ennis!

We at Scéal Eile Books are excited to announce our Christmas event!

Join us at 5pm on Saturday 15th December for the launch of award-winning poet Doireann Ní Ghríofa’s latest collection ‘Dúlasair’ – the book will be launched by Dairena Ní Chinnéide, renowned poet, and Dónal Ó hAiniféin.

The even will be celebrated with music, festive cheer, mulled wine and mince pies (yum!). Oh, and poetry of course.

Admission & refreshments are free, and all are welcome!

Ba mhór ag Scéal Eile Books agus Coiscéim do chuideachta nuair a sheolfaidh Dairena Ní Chinnéide agus Dónal Ó hAiniféin an leabhar nua filíochta ‘Dúlasair’ le Doireann Ní Ghríofa ag 5i.n. ar an 15ú Nollaig. Beidh an ócááid á chéiliúradh againn le ceol, scailtín fíona agus píoga mionra.

ABOUT DOIREANN Ní GHRíOFA:
Doireann Ní Ghríofa’s poems have appeared in many literary journals in Ireland and internationally, most recently in France, Mexico, USA, Scotland and England. She writes both in Irish and English. The Arts Council of Ireland has awarded her a literature bursary. She was a winner of Wigtown Gaelic poetry prize (the Scottish National Poetry Prize). Doireann has also been shortlisted for the Jonathan Swift Award 2012 and Comórtas Uí Néill, both in 2011 and 2012. She was selected for the prestigious Poetry Ireland Introductions Series. About Dairena Ní Chinnéide:

Dairena Ní Chinnéide is a bilingual writer and poet based in the Dingle Peninsula. Among her five poetry collections are “An Trodaí agus Dánta Eile/The Warrior and Other Poems” (Cló Iar Chonnachta) agus “Bleachtaire na Seirce.” (Coiscéim).  She has read her poetry in Ireland, England, France, Belgium, Slovenia and America. She was awarded an Arts Council Bursary for Literature in 2010 and again in 2012, as well as being awarded a bursary by Ealaín na Gaeltachta in 2009 and in 2011. She is currently working on Irish language translations of the poetry of Marina Tsvetaeva. She will publish a new bilingual collection of poetry in 2013, along with a selection of English language poems. At present, Dairena is collaborating with multi-disciplinary artists on a site-specific installation inspired by a series of her reflective poems entitled ‘Cloithear – Aistear Anama”.

Beidh cnuasach nua dátheangach, agus rogha bun dánta Béarla, i bhfoirm “Rí Rá” á fhoilsiú i 2013. Faoi láthair tá sí ag cur súiteáil suíomh bhunaithe le chéile i bpáirtíocht le cumadóirí agus ealaíontóirí ilmheain agus tírdhreacha, bunaithe ar shraith dánta macnaimh a chum sí faoin teideal ‘Cloithear – Aistear Anama”.
